An Epic Chateau Laurier Wedding in downtown Ottawa

November 3, 2017

On the glorious late summer day of August 20th, love was in the air as Sireen and Anas celebrated their intimate wedding reception at the enchanting Chateau Laurier. Their love story is one for the books, and I was fortunate to document their engagement and reception last fall. Since then, Sireen and I have grown to become good friends, making this day even more special.

The Morning.

The day began at Sireen’s family home in Greely, where she prepared for her big day alongside her four sisters. With their family owning a local bridal boutique, the anticipation of Sireen’s gown was palpable. And let me tell you, it was nothing short of perfection. Every intricate detail was meticulously planned, and I was particularly enchanted by the extensive collection of unique furniture that Sireen’s mother had imported from Jordan. The morning was filled with laughter and positive energy, making me feel like I was part of the family—an incredibly heartwarming feeling.

The Downtown Stroll

After capturing the first look and a few quick bridal portraits, we ventured downtown. The weather was idyllic, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Passersby and tourists couldn’t help but stop in awe as they made way for the radiant bride and groom, showering them with congratulations. Dressed like royalty, Sireen and Anas certainly turned heads. The hazy sun beginning to set added a touch of magic to the atmosphere as we made our way back to the Chateau Laurier for the reception.

A Grand Entrance

Their entrance into the reception was nothing short of spectacular. A lively zaffa group welcomed them with drums, tablas, and an epic dabka dance that ignited the energy in the room. Despite it being an intimate gathering, the enthusiasm made it feel as if there were hundreds of guests in attendance. Before settling in for dinner, Anas delivered a heartwarming thank-you speech to their guests, some of whom had traveled from overseas to share in this momentous day. He concluded his speech by inviting his beloved wife to join him on the dance floor for their first dance. To the enchanting live rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” sung by Sireen’s sister Noor, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, including mine. It’s these little moments that transform a wedding into something entirely unique, filling your heart with joy for the couple.

To Sireen and Anas, I wish you all the love and success in the world. Congratulations on your beautiful union, and I eagerly await what the future holds for you both!
