If you thought Long Island was only a place in NYC, you’re sorely mistaken. This long island locks summer engagement session with Leena and Tariq will make you smile from ear to ear. Ottawa is known for many things. It’s the capital of Canada, it’s where Justin Trudeau lives – and it’s home to the UNESCO World Heritage site; the Rideau Canal. The oldest and continuously operating water way that connects Ottawa to Kingston, that uses a lock system to boot. I am a huuuuge history nerd, and no matter the place, I will learn the history and then deliver all the facts to you during our session. So really, not only do you get to have a wonderful time hanging out with me and making photo magic, but you also get a FREE history lesson. I mean….
The lock stations are one of my favourite places to shoot around the city, and we have five different locations between downtown and Manotick. They’re a perfect blend of nature + architecture and I thought that would be a perfect location for Leena and Tariq’s engagement session – it also may have had to do with the fact that while they both grew up in Ottawa, their new jobs were taking them to Kingston after the wedding. You could say it was a bit of foreshadowing of their future 😉
Both Leena and Tariq are two of the smartest people I’ve met, and their heartfelt connection is not hard to miss. In case it isn’t obvious either, their style is on-point AF. Is that a term I can use? It should be. This is not surprising if you’ve seen Leena’s shoe collection.
Our session started off grey and gloomy, not that it made a difference to these lovebirds. They snuggled up and were sweet as can be. Right at the end, the sun burst through and we rushed to catch some rays – and we totally did! Enjoy this little glimpse into L + Q’s love story – and someone tell them to have a second wedding in Canada so I can shoot it because they are too adorable together!!
