Caitlin and Saaqib met playing soccer many years ago, and one of their first dates was at the Museum of Nature – so it was fitting when Cait suggested it as a location for their beautiful engagement session. We found a blush star magnolia tree that made the session even more unique. Did you know Magnolia trees in Ottawa only bloom for about 2-3 weeks? I adore the architecture and spaces around the Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
This was my first session back after my very short mat leave, and I was definitely a little nervous to get back into the swing of things while Zach was only 8 weeks old! Turns out I had nothing to worry about, because I am pretty sure Cait and Saaqib are actually undercover professional models. The day threatened rain (doesn’t it always in Ottawa?) but it held off and this Blush magnolia engagement session turned out magical. It’s not always you meet two people who clearly know how to have fun together, they didn’t stop laughing and it was infectious!
We really wanted to catch the magnolia’s and even though there were only a few in bloom so we made our way to the Arboretum as well. I love how perfectly the theme of this session ended up pairing with Cait’s custom floral inspired gold engagement ring – something you have to see for yourself in this post, it is stunning.
I can’t wait to spend two wedding days with you soon! Enjoy this magnolia filled ottawa engagement session.
