This session with Noor & Ahmed is a visual narrative of love, style, and the city’s allure. Downtown Ottawa has some of the best architecture in my opinion, and it’s my personal mission to discover more of it with my couples. This session showcased not only the couple’s chic style but also the vibrant heart of Ottawa, blending modernity with the city’s historic charm.
When couples reach out and already have a vision, it makes the planning process feel even more collaborative—and this downtown Ottawa engagement session was exactly that. Their goal: polished photos that felt modern, a little editorial, and centered around architecture, clean lines, and intentional fashion choices.
We started our session at the iconic Château Laurier, which gave us a soft, neutral backdrop and beautiful light bouncing off the stone. From there, we made our way through Majors Hill Park and along the terrace, where city views met natural textures for a really dynamic mix.
Next stop: the Senate of Canada Building, where things started to shift more formal. The structure and symmetry there added a completely different tone to the gallery—this is one of those places that never photographs the same way twice, and it always surprises me in the best way.
After that, we headed toward the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) and Jackson Café. They paused for a little break, shared a treat, and did a full outfit change before we wrapped things up at the Arts Council Building. The change in clothing brought a fresh energy to the session—something I always encourage if time allows. Even just swapping a jacket or adding layers can change the whole vibe of the photos. In this case, the second look brought a more refined, modern edge to the final set of images.
What stood out most about this engagement session was how thoughtful everything was—from their route through downtown to how well their wardrobe worked with each space. This wasn’t about flashy fashion or dramatic gestures, it was about being intentional with every detail so the photos felt effortless, timeless, and true to them.
