An Intimate Château Laurier Wedding with Personal Touches

On a warm August day, Sireen and Anas hosted their elegant wedding reception at Ottawa’s Fairmont Château Laurier. I had photographed their engagement session the previous fall, and in the months since, Sireen and I became close friends—which made documenting this day feel all the more meaningful.

Getting Ready at Home in Greely

The day started at Sireen’s family home, where she got ready alongside her four sisters. Their home was filled with energy, excitement, and a lot of laughter. With her family owning a bridal boutique, everyone was waiting to see the dress—and it didn’t disappoint. Designed with intention and family roots, it was the perfect fit for the day.

Their home was just as thoughtfully styled. Sireen’s mother had imported unique furniture pieces from Jordan, giving the morning a strong sense of culture and comfort. From the start, it was clear this was more than a wedding—it was a family celebration.

A Walk Through Downtown Ottawa

After the first look and portraits, we headed into downtown Ottawa. The weather was perfect. As they walked through the city, Sireen and Anas turned heads. People paused to congratulate them, creating small moments that made the day feel even more special. With the early evening light starting to dip, we made our way back to the Château Laurier for the reception.

Reception at Château Laurier

Their entrance into the reception was full of energy, thanks to a lively zaffa group. Drums, tablas, and traditional dabka dancing filled the room and set the tone for the night. It was a smaller gathering, but the energy made it feel like a full house.

Before dinner, Anas gave a heartfelt speech, thanking their guests—many of whom had travelled internationally to be there. Then came one of the most emotional moments of the day: their first dance, sung live by Sireen’s sister Noor. Her performance of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” had everyone in tears—including me.

Sireen and Anas, it was a true honour to be part of your day. Wishing you a future filled with love, adventure, and continued connection to family.
