It was the most perfect late summer day on the 20th of August when Sireen & Anas celebrated their marriage in a intimate reception at the Chateau Laurier. Last Fall I had the honor to document their engagement & reception and since then Sireen and I have become good friends.
The day started off at Sireen’s family home in Greely, where she was getting ready with her four sisters. Since their family owns a local bridal boutique, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to see her gown, and it was actually perfect for Sireen. Every important detail was thought of, and I was so pleased by the extensive unique furniture collection that Sireen’s mom had imported from Jordan. The morning was full of laughter and good vibes, I felt as if I was just hanging out with my family, and that’s the best feeling.
After the first look and a few quick bridal portraits, we headed downtown. It was a really perfect day for a stroll, so we encountered a lot of onlookers and tourists, but it was so lovely to see them make way for the bride and groom and congratulate them. They did look like royalty though, so that could have had something to do with it! With the hazy sun just starting to set, we made our way back to the Chateau for the reception.
Their entrance was nothing short of spectacular with a zaffa group announcing them into the reception with drums, tablas and an epic dabka dance that the guests joined in on. While it was an intimate reception, if felt as though there were hundreds of guests in attendance with the amount of energy in the room. Just before settling in for dinner, Anas gave a heartwarming thank you speech to everyone who had come, some family traveling from overseas to be in attendance of their important day. He ended it by inviting his wife to the dance floor for their first dance. They danced to, “can’t help falling in love,” sang live by Sireen’s sister Noor, and I most definitely teared up. It’s all these little things that really build up to make a wedding day entirely unique, the kind that makes your heart feel so full for the couple.
I wish you all the love & success in the world, Sireen and Anas. Congratulations on your marriage, I can’t wait to see what’s next for you!
